We are delighted to announce that following a visit to Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle we handed over 70 quilts to the Special baby unit. These will be split between Carlisle and Whitehaven special baby units. Sarah Penn who is a staff nurse on the unit along with other staff members were overwhelmed with the quilts and could not believe the generosity of the visitors who had made them. They said these were the first quilts they had ever received at the special baby unit. They will go over the baby’s cot and each family will chose a quilt to take home with their baby as a keepsake so a huge thank you to all those who made and donated a quilt at Creative Crafts.
The unit would be more than happy for us to donate more quilts next year either cot sized quilts which could cover the incubators or similar sized ones which would cover the cots. So if any of you lovely visitors would like to get your machines out again please feel free to get in touch and we will happily pass them on.
